My second card went to Southend-on-Sea, an English seaside-town located on the mouth of the River Thames in Essex. Here it dropped into Gwen’s mailbox.
Gwen who’s a 70-year-old enjoying life, proves that Postrossing is not only for the young but for everyone. I certainly knew that before but knowing that it’s possible and having prove of it are two entirely different things – and it’s great to really see it work out!
Overlooking the beach from her home Gwen spends her time reading, walking, keeping fit and of course postcrossing. She doesn’t particularly care about the card’s subject but prefers one’s with cats, historical themes and lovely views of where you live.
I chose to go with the “lovely view” and picked a card showing the Lüneburger Heide (Lueneburg Heath) in the evening sun. The area I live in is famous for this very unique landscape. My hometown is located almost dead-centre in this area which is mostly a nature reserve.
On September 3rd I sent the card on it’s way to travel 399 miles (642 km). It travelled 12 days before reaching it’s destination on September 15th.
So, no matter how old you are, enjoy postcrossing and make the best of it.
